About

Zara Glaser (Amsterdam, 1995)  is a visual artist working with illustration and photography.

Currently residing in Amsterdam.

After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2019 with a BA in photography, I moved to Toronto, Canada. It was during there, during pandemic lockdowns, that I reconnected with my passion for drawing and painting. Since moving back to Europe, spending time in Dublin before moving back to Amsterdam, my inspiration is often drawn from observing city life, as well as camping trips in nature.

In my work I seek to capture moments from daily life, am drawn to the interaction of light and shadow, and mostly use my own photographs for reference.
